This section will build up over time to show some of our favorite runs in and around Dunbar. Please note that all maps will open in a new window.
RUN 1 First up: a 12K run that goes under then over the A1 into quiet roads. Suggested by Stuart Hay. "From Hallhill run through the woods to Hallhill Cottages then head via Eweford under the A1. At the signpost bear right towards Pitcox. The road to Pitcox is 'Undulating' so don't try to push up the wee climbs too hard, just take this part of the run easy and enjoy the views (you climb just enough to get a good view of the coast line). At Pitcox bear right again and head down towards the A1. This is a nice gradual descent and it easy to get carried away and really pick the pace up. At the new roundabout at the A1 cross with care and take the new pedestrians path that leads onto the old West Barns road. Into West Barns, along to Beveridge Row, under the railway bridge then back the way you came to Hallhill." "I like this run because its one of the first I always seem to do in April or so, just when you start to get a bit of light again on a club night. Also its not too long, so it allows for more time in the bar." For a map click HERE. RUN 2 Quite a long one this, but well worth it for the views. Suggested by Frank. "Leave Hallhill via the woods and go under the A1 at the tunnel near Eweford then head up towards Wester Broomhouse. Carry on down towards the road between the A1 and Spott and turn right. At Doon, run through the steadings then up the path at the side of the hill then bear right towards home farm. Just after the big Barn take the farm track that turn left up and over the Brunt Hill. If you feel inclined stop or at least slow down a bit to admire the views over Dunbar and beyond. If you get to this part of the run at the right time of day you are almost certain to see deer, When you get to a "T" junction in the path turn left, then after 1km or so turn right onto the road. Take the next left towards Little Pinkerton and go through the steadings. Now continue on the old road till you get to the A1 and cross with care. From there just follow the cycle route back towards the Spott roundabout and Hallhill." For a map click HERE
